Custom Toy Steering Wheel | Reverse Engineering & 3D Printing
A damaged steering wheel from a children's ride-on toy required replacement, but no CAD data or spare part was available.
The original mounting section was captured using a 3D scanner and converted into a parametric CAD model through a reverse engineering workflow. After recreating the critical interface geometry, a new steering wheel design was developed in SOLIDWORKS while maintaining compatibility with the existing toy assembly.
The final model was optimized for FDM 3D printing and manufactured as a functional replacement part, restoring the toy's usability without the need for original manufacturer components.
