Custom Motorized Kinetic Assembly — Full SolidWorks Simulation
This project represents a comprehensive simulation of a motor/kinetic device designed from scratch using SolidWorks. The focus extended beyond aesthetics to the meticulous engineering of internal components, ensuring seamless dynamic compatibility.
-Technical Value & Engineering Highlights
*Complex Assembly Management: Developed an assembly comprising over 15 unique parts utilizing precise Mates to ensure realistic mechanical movement and zero component interference.
*High-Precision Modeling: Detailed design of critical internal components—including the Rotor, Commutator, and Housing—incorporating specific clearances to facilitate ease of assembly and maintenance.
*Design for Manufacturing (DfM): Every component is engineered for production viability, optimized for processes such as injection molding for polymer parts and precision machining (turning/milling) for metal components.
*Material & Visual Analysis: Implemented strategic color coding to distinguish between material types (Copper, Steel, and Polymers), streamlining the design review and production hand-off.
-The Professional Edge
This project demonstrates that my expertise goes beyond basic 3D modeling. It showcases my ability to manage a complete mechanical lifecycle—transitioning from individual part design to a fully functional, production-ready system.
