compressor assembly - station

### Automated Compressor Assembly Station This project presents an automated compressor assembly station designed for the final cover installation of three different compressor models. The compressor enters the station and stops at the first position, where the top surface of the compressor body is laser-cleaned. It then moves to the next position for pressing and automated screw tightening, followed by the final position where the remaining two screws are tightened. In parallel, the compressor cover is picked by a smaller robot from a Hirata feeder and transferred to an alignment unit. A larger robot then picks the aligned cover and places it into a dedicated nest on a four-position rotary indexing table. Here, the cover undergoes laser cleaning followed by automated sealant application using a gantry system. After sealant application, a dedicated pick-and-place unit removes the cover from the indexing table and transfers it back to the main robot. The robot moves the cover to a vision inspection station, where the applied sealing contour is checked. Once the inspection is successfully completed, the cover is transferred to the final assembly process. The cover is positioned on the compressor and processed by a custom-designed press head, which performs automated pressing and pneumatic screw tightening simultaneously. The station combines robotic handling, part feeding and alignment, laser cleaning, sealant application, vision inspection, rotary indexing, pressing, and automated screw tightening into a fully integrated assembly process.
