Cable Drum Design for a Motorized Lifting Mechanism
Academic group project involving the development of an electrically powered mechanism designed to raise and lower a water bottle using a three-position control switch.
My responsibility within the project was the mechanical design and CAD modelling of the cable drum used to wind and unwind the lifting cable. The drum was designed to interface with the drive system and provide controlled vertical movement of the suspended load.
I created the 3D component model and the corresponding technical drawing, including orthographic views, sectional views and dimensional documentation.
Other members of the project team were responsible for the remaining mechanical and electrical components.
