Assistive Bedside Transfer Platform – Complete Product Design & Development
This project involved the complete mechanical design and CAD development of an assistive bedside transfer platform intended to improve independence and safety for elderly individuals and patients with limited mobility.
The objective was to create a stable, height-adjustable platform that allows users to transfer safely in and out of bed while providing ergonomic support and optional functionality such as integrated lighting and an attachable tabletop for everyday activities.
The design process covered concept refinement, engineering development, assembly design, design-for-manufacturing (DFM), realistic visualization, and presentation-quality renderings.
The product was developed entirely in SolidWorks with a focus on structural stability, user comfort, manufacturability, and modular construction.
