As‑Built Survey of Steel Structures with BIM Overlay, Deviation Analysis and Quality Control
This project involved an as‑built survey of steel structures using a Leica TS06 electronic total station.
The survey data was overlaid onto the original BIM model of the steel frame to verify geometric compliance. During this process, a critical deviation was identified — one of the steel columns was significantly out of position, posing a risk to the structural integrity of the entire frame.
The error was reported immediately, and the column was repositioned by the construction team. A follow‑up control survey was then performed to confirm that the corrected position matched the design coordinates.
Final as‑built geodetic documentation was prepared, reflecting the actual verified position of all steel members.
This project demonstrates a complete quality control cycle: high‑precision survey, BIM‑based deviation detection, corrective action, and final verification — ensuring structural compliance and project integrity.
