Analysis of cavitation in impeller of centrifugal pump

This project involved the modelling an existing impeller of a centrifugal pump as per the requirement of the client and the fluid dynamic analysis was performed based on certain boundary condition to evaluate the existing design. Based on the results obtained, the blade inlet and outlet angles were varied to reduce the cavitation effect at the blades, which would potentially damage the blades. The final design was successful in eliminating the cavitation effect. This analysis was performed in Ansys (CFX).
