Automatic Kerbstone Lifting Clamp – Mechanical Design & Manufacturing Implementation
Automatic Kerbstone Lifting Clamp — Mechanical Design & Product Development
Complete mechanical development of an automatic kerbstone lifting clamp, from initial concept to manufacturing implementation.
I was responsible for designing the mechanical solution and preparing the product for production.
My responsibilities included:
- Development of the mechanical concept and product design.
- Design of an automatic mechanical gripping and release mechanism.
- Preparation of manufacturing technology and production documentation.
- Design and preparation of the required production fixtures.
- Product testing and preparation of CE conformity documentation.
- Preparation of operating instructions.
- Implementation of the product into manufacturing.
Technical solution:
The device uses a mechanical system that automatically switches between gripping and releasing positions during the kerbstone handling cycle, reducing the need for manual intervention.
Project outcome:
The product was successfully implemented into production, with an estimated manufacturing cost of approximately PLN 700 and no identified manufacturing defects after production launch.
Project background: Professional experience at MIMAL, Poland.
