26. Control Arm Hinge Pin
Hinge pin (pivot shaft), a fundamental kinematic component that serves as the primary rotational axis for an independent suspension control arm.
+ This pin takes the absolute brunt of the vehicle's dynamic forces. When a car hits a pothole, brakes heavily, or accelerates, those massive longitudinal and lateral forces travel through the tire, into the control arm, and directly into this pin before reaching the chassis.
