I am a current student studying industrial design. I've already taken many CAD/CAM classes including SolidWorks, MasterCam, machine shop that were all part of a CAD/CAm technician certifcate. I have also received a certificate in SolidWorks called (Certified SolidWorks Associate) in 2011 and continued to use and design in SolidWorks personally and for my current place of employment. In 2012 I started working in a complete CNC machine shop where my occupation was, Assisting and generating CNC Lathe and Mill programming manually and automatically with MasterCam and SolidWorks as well as setting up and operating them. Lathe turning, knurling, facing, threading, drilling, boring and grooving then checking with dial indicators, calipers, micrometers, etc. Mill facing, pocketing, countering, chamfering, drilling, tapping, executions on MasterCam. After over a year I found a better opportunity doing what I love, which is designing instead of just oporating machines. This better opportunity was a popular fabrication shop with updated software and modern engineering-design practices. At this fabrication shop, where i currently work. my occupation is, assigned drafting and designing tasks for part creation with SolidWorks. Reverse engineer existing parts from its measurements converting to a CAD file on SolidWorks for further editing and programming. Operate, set-up and maintain CNC lathe, mill, router and water-Jet machines as well as examining and perfecting finished parts. Assist in drafting parts in AutoCad to prepare machining operations in MasterCam. My goal is to make a name for myself and creat a good reputation as a designer by creating winning products with SolidWorks to then add to a portfolio and eventually get into contract CAD work
