New House FloorplanBlind

in Architectural Design held by davidb1
TIME REMAINING: 5 days, 12 hours
We are seeking a 2d floorplan for a new house. Your design response should consider:
1. The attached brief
2. The attached site plan (pdf and dwg)

If the brief is unclear or incomplete, please let me know and I will adjust it or provide clarity.

There is flexibility to move some elements between rooms - so if you have have suggestions or recommended changes, please let me know.

The design should provide a floorplan for the house and landscaped areas.

You can use any software you wish. However, designs must be provided to scale in PDF format such that they can be printed on A3 paper. The scale must be shown on the drawing.
1. Alignment with brief
2. Architectural flair
3. Going above and beyond. Some of the stronger entries may choose to provide elevations from the street facade or from the rear garden if this would help explain their design.
4. Providing DWG files (or equivalent) would be positive but is not required.

#4 New Residence, Edgar Street, Glen Iris by CaitlinS
This is my design for your home. I have included as much of your brief as is relevant to this stage of design. I would appreciate any comments and feedback you have, and am willing to make any changes. I can also take this into 3D to give you an idea of the overall look if required. If you need drawings at a bigger scale, I can give those to you too.
Thank you.

The existing house will be demolished. It will an empty and almost flat block of land. The DWG file is from the land surveyor and should match the PDF file.
The block of land is marked Lot 1 on TP5151529M and is bounded my a green box. I provided the DWG file as I thought it may be easier for some people to work from that instead of the PDF file.

I'm not familiar with the term lanternal windows. However, if you are referring to lantern windows or skylights, then yes, it is possible.

Hello, I just want to clarify the Autocad file you have sent. The area where it is highlighted with a green box is the whole property? Also, the existing house in that area will it be demolished or maintained?

Is it possible to open the roof for lanternal windows?

Yacht Interior Design
I am considering buying a half finished yacht project and it will need significant modifications if I do. I would like to find some designers I can work with for the redesign work on the interior and some exterior styling.
Home Expansion/Addition
Would like to expand kitchen, add large great room with high ceilings possibly vaulted, with back porch and grilling area, and pool. Would like back porch to span across entire back of the house over looking the pool area. Pool should be screened in.
I need to design architectural view of hotel
Front Addition Elevations / Concept - Mud Room & Game Room
Wanting to create an attractive look to the front of our home while adding a mud room and possibly game room wing off the left side of home. Open to any/ all ideas as I am having hard time visualizing - Front elevations / concepts at this time. Mud Room - - Will come off the front of house where existing front door is located - Approximate size 10' by 10' - One or 2 story - Roof pitch to match right side roof line - Possible open porch on 2nd level if looks good (the 2nd floor center window leads to master bed and can be converted to door)?? - Need roof lines to look good and addition to fit in with existing Game Room - - Large family room off left side of home - 16' x 32' - 1 or 2 stories (most likely 1 but open to 2 if looks good) - Extends approx 10' out from existing home to front - 16' wide - Roof line to match right side addition
8.5' x 40' Wide Clear Span Modular Box
Looking for visual representation of an idea for 8.5' wide modular construction for single and multifamily applications. The idea is to create 8.5' W x 40' L (Max) modular "boxes" that stack upon one another and connect at floor and ceiling allowing smooth ceilings and transitions (no bulk heads or furr downs at ceiling transitions). The idea being at 8.5' max span the loads will be minimal and allow for up to 40' (?) clear spans on non exterior walls. The floor systems would need to be of floor truss construction with a 9-1/4" depth, with the 1st floor being a flat type (or bottom mount) with the 2nd floor being a flat type on exterior walls and top chord mount on clear span side. Sub floor will be 3/4" T&G. The exterior walls would be 2x4 or 2x6 studs at 9' height finished on the outside with 7/16 osb and 1/2" drywall on the inside. The ceilings would be 2x4 or 2x6" joist with a layer of 7/16" and drywall on bottom chord that would be mounted on the double top plate of the exterior wall and flush mounted w/ metal hangers on a 3.5" x 11-7/8" glu-lam or LVL (2-ply 1.75"). The LVL or glu-lam would run the length of the "box" (max 40') and would support the 2nd story floor truss on the top mounted side. Deliverable: I need a visual representation of the above, one each of the four of the types of "boxes" as noted (one 1st floor with 3 exteriors walls, one 2nd floor with 3 exteriors walls, one 1st floor with only end walls and one 2nd floor with only end walls, all finished as noted (drywall, osb etc.). 3D would be preferable, but 2D would work as well. This is a tool to share with designers and engineers to create a proof of concept, what I am needing at this current time is just the concept in digital form.
