Description:
Hi!

We would like to ask you for your help to create a new pen holder/organizer product for the market that will be made out of bamboo. Technical skill or experience with these elements would be helpful.

We are looking for a high-quality design with optimum functionality.

In the attached file, you can find some guidelines and some sample images for inspiration. We want to ask you to use this guide to design a product that is unique, hyper-functional, and pleasing to look at.

After the design contest, we want to validate our concept and bring the snack organizer to production!

Deliverables. All CAD drawings showing everything. Please provide full dimensions for each side/element of the design. Also, provide images showing clearly each side of the unit (top, bottom, front, back, sides.
Wants:
Wants:
- A practical product that appeals to artists, people who use a lot of pens and pencils, people who need organization, eco-friendly product users
- Smart, elegant design
- A product with outstanding functionality
(see more guidelines attached)
Don't Wants:
Something too similar to the examples I provide.
Additional Information
Important Consideration: Size and Market Saturation

There are many pen holders available. Where we are seeing a gap in the market is with more elaborate, larger, multi function pen/pencil/brush holders. What we are really looking for is a way to hold and display LOTS of pens/pencils/brushes AND also serve some type of other storage/display function. Ideally with a unique function too but not necessarily.

I would advise making the unit as big as possible but still fit under the size guidelines we provided. Making the unit a few tiers and/or rotating is an easy but smart choice unless you have something better. There is a gap in the market for tiered pen holders in bamboo. This would be a good way to go. If you go small/cheap its probably been done. You can try and if you can pull off something unique GREAT! Hopefully that helps.

The IDEAL solution and one that I see working well would be a large tiered unit like the first two examples in the document (one wood, one metal) that has that slanted element (good for taking pens out). But improve upon the utility of the rest of the unit. Maybe more drawers or something. For example, on the first wood one people complain about its size (smaller then it appears). The second unit people seem to really like so changing it from metal to bamboo, adding drawer (s), etc might work very well. And making some other small changes. The bottom area is kind of undefined for example. Or style/aesthetic changes would be great.

The other option that would really work well is a tiered rotating unit. There is nothing like this. This could be round or not. A rotating rectangular unit that has slanted inserts would be cool. Hopefully with other function as well but maybe not. Definitely a good way to go.

#25 PENWHEEL by SGEDESIGNS
Thanks for the opportunity to design a pen holder I’d really like to have (I’ll probably 3D print one…!), and I hope you find the concept worthy of production and a win in this competition. Please request to see more of my work, including results of the two most design competitions I've won.
I’ve been developing a line of desk accessories, called DOMO, for some time now, and a pen holder was one of the first pieces I designed; I 3D-print these on request, and the printing files are for sale online. The pen holder, DOMOPEN, was very specifically designed to hold markers and pens individually. My experience with pen/pencil cups and trays is that no matter how well-intentioned I am about keeping certain markers in specific holders, over time, other makers, pens and junk creep in, sometimes even burying the originals…! And so I designed DOMOPEN, and it was one of my first 3D prints. I now use them throughout my studio, and when I want a specific marker or pen, it’s always in the same DOMO, and always accessible; no more digging through overcrowded bins. The design works.

And so I based PENWHEEL on the DOMO shape, and expanded from there into a rotating organizer which holds 22 markers of different diameters. I have a square, multi-compartment, multi-tier, rotating desktop organizer in my studio, and it has become a general catch-all, matching my experience; still useful, but not for the important markers and pens, which are kept separate in their DOMOPEN holders, uncluttered, and always ready at hand. To achieve this same clarity of purpose here, I’ve chosen not to add drawers, as they could (likely…) become “junk” drawers, and detract from the visual speed with which you would be able to identify and reach for the drawing implement you wanted. Even such miniscule distractions can take a toll on workflow when repeated dozens (or hundreds…) of times.
I’m assuming that most people have a limited group of frequently-used drawing tools, and PENWHEEL is designed to house that smaller group, and be positioned nearby the workspace to conveniently hold and present these important everyday tools. If we get to work together, I’ll design you a matching miscellaneous “stuff” organizer, but for pens and markers, I’m convinced that a single-purpose organizer is the way to go. Is PENWHEEL your next product?
When you choose this design, I’ll provide the detailed functional and construction drawings.
If you don’t choose PENWHEEL, all design rights revert to SGEDESIGNS.

#13 The Smart Pen Holder by Chaniago
In general, this "Smart Pen Holder" has length dimensions: 16.1 "width : 11.6" and height: 15 "
In the middle there is a place to store a pen that can be opened by pushing the lid on the bottom and automatically the paper clip will open to the side. At the bottom there is a drawer that can be pulled out and inside the drawer there is also a multi functional insulator that can be used to store several objects such as duct tape, masks, hand sanitizers, pocket books, and other objects. Thus a brief description for more detailed information can be seen in the DWG and STP file that I attached. Hopefully it can be useful and I will wait for your suggestions, comments, and feedback regarding this design.
Thank you
Regards,
Chaniago

Description: Pen Holder composed by a rotative and fixed part. The rotative part is an hexagon with one level with compartimented spaces and an other free level. In the fixed part we can also put pen, pencil. The best method to put many pencils, pens or felts is to stack them as MICADO in the compartimented level, we can also put compartiments in the second level.

If you selected me. I will do the cutlist in every parts. I will show you also the assembly drawing. The assembly drawing is important in fabrication. In the drawer handle is optional. we can make it button or just cut it out to get more space for the box. And if you have comment, let me do the modification.

Litter Box
We have completed CAD now, and the functionality is fine. But the product looks too much like a garbage can right now and we want to make it look amazing and trend-forward, maybe even industrial I don't know for sure. It has to look great in a home setting, both in a bathroom or even living room. It should blend into a home's decor without looking out of place.
Safe Watch
Vision: We build an emergency Smartwatch, that can save Lifes. The so called SafeWatch will detect heart Issues and falls. There is an emergency Button where persons can call for help. We are only interested in the look and feel of the device; engineering will be addressed at a later date. Target Audience: - Men and women - Age: 50+ Design Specification: - Comfortable to wear 24/7 for older people - Quadrangular (Because of battery measurements and arrangement of sensors) - Classy unobtrusive design. People should not feel weak or in need of help or old because they wear the watch. And they also don’t want to be seen as such. - It should looks noble - Waterproof (Swimming in pool, shower, rain) Buttons: There are two buttons: - Alarm Button (Person has to push this button for 2 seconds in order to alarm). It has to be easy to push and clearly visible f.ex. color red. - OK / Back to home Button. Clear difference to the emergency button. Plastic case

Think out side the box, a new take on photo booths. Innovation starts here.
Greetings. As a commercial photographer I was getting sick of this DIY Photo Booth market. So I've spent the past 2 years prototyping different products to combine to make a reliable product to take to market. While doing this we built a company that would let our products be tested in the real world. This is my first time posting for CADCrowd so we will be as detailed as possible, if you need any more info please leave a public message or send me a private message. What we are looking for: We want to build a product that is innovative, stylish, light weight, collapsable yet durable. We are sick of seeing Boxes. We want a unit that is free standing and curtain-less. I would love a stainless steel or aluminum face, but are open to other ideas. We don't want the end product to break the bank when it comes to manufacturing so would like materials to be widely available. Height - We would like the unit to be at its tallest 70" would like it to have removable sections so hight could vary. Free standing Collapsable/mobile - END GOAL would love for the entire unit to break down in to ONE 1650 Pelican Case. Simply assembly - would like this process to go quick, maybe pins/magnets/dovetails maybe power integration from base to components. Durable - This unit will be on the go, seeing 50-60 party's a year, thats 10,000 - 50,000 potentially drunk people a year and would love to get at least 5 years from it. Stream line - think of apples clean cut designs, would love for it to feel simple, not threatening. Products: Specs Available online or upon request. HITI 510L Printer - needs side access for paper and ink, can only print on a angle of up to 30 degrees, would love for paper to come out on the front under/lower then the screen. the printer can be removable or bolted to unit. (consider break down) Windows surface tablet - needs to be accessible for touch screen, needs to be mounted flush or minimal clearance for clean design. needs access to power and usb ports from the back. Camera - standard DSLR camera. would like to have a 77mm UV filter mounted for the camera to touch up against. a dovetail plate would be great to let the camera move back and forth for different lens (up to 8" of slide) Lights - would like to place LED's and a flash tube on either side of the camera so we will need holes and diffusion plexi/plastic for this as well. we will most lily be making our own boards to mount so there aren't any specs on this yet. Adjustable angle mount - would like it if the tablet/camera/light were mounted together with a potential of up to 20 degree horizontal tilt. (consider whats behind the faceplate, don't want gaps where fingers can get caught. I hope this sums up needs and wants. I will include a quick sketch of our ideas to maybe fuel your inspiration.
2-Story Residential Addition
I need structural plans. Design will consist of (4) structural plans and (2) Details: Roof Framing, Floor 1, Floor 2, Foundation, Beam Replacement Detail, and Typical Wall Detail. Each floor is 13' x 10'. I will be providing you all specifications for each drawing.
