Description:
We need to design a system that will place the sensor in the pipe in the direction of waste flow;
Transmit from the sensor unit by WiFi, BLE, or Zigbee.
Fire the sensor every hour or so - blockages usually build up over long periods of time
Send readings back to the server for processing
On setup, the pipe should be free of any blockages.
Analyze the reading over a couple of weeks to build a nominal response for this pipe assembly.
Compare later readings against the nominal response, if the readings are different and getting more different (the blockage is backing up more) then notify that there is a blockage.

•How well did the Prototype/MVP meet the need? (40% )
•Quality of the Technical solution. (40%)

Hi,
This is a concept of a portable sensor that uses a microphone (or a vibration sensor) to detect clogs. Unlike other models that listen to the water flow, it has a micro solenoid (or a vibration motor) that "knocks" the pipe once in a while, records how it sounds, and reports if it detects a clog.
Let me know if this concept is viable, I can continue working on details.
I believe this is a CAD contest, but if you would need, I can also design and solder the electronics with esp32, print a couple of prototypes, and create a neural network as a microservice that can process the data from the sensor and predict clogs. I can provide a full "idea to a working MVP" service.

I'm also wondering the answer to Kunal's question. I'd be able to handle the development from start to final product but want to know what the scope is for the prize and if the winner will be contracted afterwards to complete the design or you're expecting a full MVP for $640?
