Background of a shelf that holds technology toys

in 3D Printing Design held by Ben Palmer
Contest Closed
We are looking for a design to go in a display case. The display case will then be used as a holder for glass shelves.
Think of it almost like a glass bookshelf. Except, instead of the back being a cheap piece of board held on with tack nails like a shelf from IKEA, the back will be the design you come up with.
8ft wide
3ft high
1-3in deep

The case is being used to display tech items. So we would like the design to reflect technology. Think mother board but on our scale.
The original thought was to collect old motherboards, including ram and cpus. We were then going to lay them out on a 8x3 piece of plywood and glue them.
Instead of this, we now want to get a design that a CNC machine can make.

Material used:
Wood and old metal.

The design should induce a feeling of technological progression. So from left to right the design should transition from old circuit board tech, to current tech, to possible future tech (this part is open for interpretation)

In the attached picture, the green part is what we want to replace with our 3D circuit board idea. The entire shelf will sit on top of a table, meaning that it will be at eye level for the average person.
Must be a combination of wood and metal. The metal being a rusty look to accent the circuit board design.
  1. Anything that gives a file for a CNC machine

Prosthetic Cover Design
We are looking for CAD designs for coverings for prosthetic legs. The products are generally around 450mm tall, with a proportional width similar to human dimensions. We are specifically looking for interesting aesthetic designs. We are open to any type of style, but it should be designed to be structurally sound. It will not have to bear weight, but will have to stand up to bumps and knocks. The final print material has not been specified, but you should assume it is an FDM print. Your design should include some method of attaching the cover to the prosthetic. The product will be printed in a single colour so if your design has multiple colours it will need to designed in such a way that it's easy to paint the required parts. We intend to create a range of covers so there may be ongoing work for the successful designer(s) You should supply us with a CAD file, ready for us to setup in Grasshopper for parametric modelling. You can find examples of other similar products here: Here is an image of a prosthetic that does not have a cover on:
