Rowing machine design
Our goal is to design a rowing machine which is functionally better than the leading rowing machine, as well as being more pleasing within the home and commercial gym setting. The "Conept 2 Model D" rower is the best selling rower globally for the past 30x years for a few reasons (pros); - Simple design - Easy to store vertically - Folding away monitor - Simple fan design - Chain used for the rower, heavy duty and great feature - Manual damper adjustment - practical, difficult to reach during workouts - Easy to move around - Unbreakable - Silicone buttons which dont break - Handle has finger gaps so can be used as single handed also - 10x resistance levels Some things that do not make sense with what they do or are unpleasing to the eye/maintenence is (cons); - Offset fan - easier to manufacture but doesnt look good - Old style structure - Difficult to adjust when you are in the middle of rowing ie for HIIT intervals - Old style monitor, no tablet or phone mounts - Seat is not fully enclosed - kids could get their fingers caught - Seat cannot be locked off for row/pull only workouts (see Assault Fitness rowing machine) Some inspiration; Concept 2 RowErg (model D as of pre-2021) https://www.concept2.com/indoor-rowers/concept2-rowerg - Feedback as above https://www.nordictrack.com/rowing-machines - Easy manual adjustment in the centre - Fan is in the centre of the rower - Foot straps easy to use - con - needs to be folded to be stored - not easy https://www.assaultfitness.com/products/airrower - Chain and handle design is nice - All black looks good - Seat locking is great option - Easy to read console - Can be stored vertically without folding https://www.technogym.com/au/skillrow.html - Clean and well designed - Nice base support - looks strong - Combined magnetic and air resistance (we just need air) - Phone holder https://corehandf.com/product/stairmaster-hiit-rower/ - Similar to the concept 2 - Drink bottle holders - Simple monitor Other additions which would be nice; - Drink bottle holders - Phone holder on the display incorporated - Locking points on the seat adjustments - Somewhere to attach bands for additional resistance for the seat/rowing back/forth? Just a thought - Wheels for easy moving
World's Best Marine Hose Nozzle
Shurhold is looking to improve the standard hose nozzle with specific features and materials that would make it perfect for boaters. All materials must be marine grade. This means plastics must be highly UV resistant. Soft, oversold or soft touch parts must be of proper materials that do not yellow or turn sticky. Internal metal parts need to be high grade, corrosion resistant. Key elements: 1. Entirety of metal parts must be covered or recessed. People tend to drop hose nozzles a lot and we want a KEY feature of this head to be that it will not damage the boat when dropped. So this is very important. We want to make sure it does not scratch or ding fiberglass surfaces when dropped. This will be key in the design and materials. SO NO HARD METAL or PLASTIC should hit first when dropped. 2. Needs to be ergonomic in the hand. 3. Where hose connects to the nozzle must swivel to make it easier to handle and use a standard style quick connect.. 4. Internal to the shape of the nozzle needs to be the ability to hang it on a rail or a bucket rim. 5. Flow and pattern adjusted separately. Typically twist end for pattern and thumb lever for flow.
Designing, detail engineering and submission of design, general arrangement, fabrication detailed drawings and 3d model of a continuous process, fully automated controlled Pilot unit for the capacity of 50 to 75kg.hr feed stock MSW plastic waste processing at high temperature & oxygen free with atm pressure.
Cable Spacing Appratus
New Apparatus for Spacing of Conductors in Cable Bus Assembly. The apparatus shall be constructed of nonferrous materials. REQUIRED The apparatus if designed from nonmetallic materials shall have a flame rating of not less than V0. INFORMATION The apparatus shall be UV resistant in accordance with ASTM G151. The conditioning period shall be 1,000 hrs. INFORMATION The apparatus shall be non-hygroscopic in accordance with ASTM D570(2).INFORMATION The apparatus shall be crush resistant such that there shall be no signs of cracking, warping, or breakage after the crush at room temperature performed as follows: a) Each of 10 samples of the non-combustible support blocks material and insulated mounting means shall be laid along the 50 mm width of a flat horizontal steel plate and crushed against the plate by a 19 mm diameter solid steel rod moving down at the rate of 12.7 mm/min. b) The longitudinal axis of the rod shall be horizontal and at right angles to the non-combustible support block and insulated mounting means the 50 mm dimension of the plate. c) The results of tests of these two sizes shall be considered representative of the performance of all sizes. INFORMATION The apparatus shall conform to the following impact tests Each sample from a set of 10 samples shall be laid across a rigidly mounted 19 mm diameter solid steel rod with the longitudinal axis of the non-combustible support blocks and insulated mounting means horizontal and perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the steel rod. b) Each of the samples shall be subjected to the impact of a 4.54 kg free-falling flat-faced cylindrical steel weight having a diameter of 50 mm. The edges of the impact face shall be rounded. The longitudinal axis of the weight shall be perpendicular to the horizontal plane of the cable sample and shall be centered over the intersection of the cable specimen and steel rod. c) The weight shall be dropped from a height of 2290 mm above the upper specimen surface at an energy of 101.7 J. Not more than 2 samples out of 10 shall exhibit failure. Failure occurs when the sample cracks or breaks, as determined under normal or corrected to normal vision INFORMATION The apparatus must allow for the ability to be positively secured to the enclosure REQUIRED The apparatus shall be designed to contain and accommodate the diameter of the cable and have chamfered edges for the cable bores. The support blocks shall be adequately closed and have enough strength and rigidity so that additional levels of cable shall not distort or damage the cable insulation. All cut edges or exposed surfaces shall be sealed against degradation due to weather, if necessary. REQUIRED The Apparatus shall support the cables mechanically within the rectangular cable bus enclosure of varying sizes from 6”x6” to 12”x48”. REQUIRED The apparatus shall allow for installation of cable one tier at a time without the cable being installed through the aperture of the apparatus. REQUIRED The ideal apparatus will allow for the use of numerous cable diameters using either inserts or other modular designs to allow for the minimal number of apparatus components. See appendix A of current aperture sizes required. REQUIRED The Ideal apparatus will allow for numerous cable configurations. See Appendix B The ideal apparatus will not only offer reduced product customization through a modular design but will also be cost competitive compared to the current design.REQUIRED See attached examples of competitive apparatus or images for inspiration being for examples of different approaches, not to be duplicated or imitated. All criteria is listed above tagged "INFORMATION" is only to serve as guidance as we don't expect a designer to be able to confirm compliance with testing procedures. This can be done by us, however it should serve as guidance to material selection and overall design. For example given the flame rating requirement designing an apparatus from cardboard would be a non starter. But an injection molded design would allow us to pick a suitable polymer.
We are looking for concept designs for our smart lock technology. There are 2 aspects to this design. We want to design the tesla of smart locks. In terms of functionality and intelligence but most of all look, feel. Something that stands out from the crowd of pretty ugly basic designs that have already made it to the direct to consumer market. Looking to innovate but also hide inside the lock somewhere for a real key that is not visible unless of emergency. 1. We are designing a reader for granting entry into a condo or apartment building, that a user will touch their phone using nfc or blu tooth. Each reader will connect directly to the cloud via iot chip inside. There will not be big cables and wiring needed in this case. 2. We are looking to design and actual door handle and smart lock for the doors of condos and apartment buildings moving deadbolt locks. These will not be individually purchased as we are a b2b business. Please evaluate the images and the companies designs i have uploaded as a base for the product line we are building. I would like similar feeling to latch, but with a little more tesla influence. That goes foe the reader of the phone and for the lock that goes on a condo or apartment. Please disregard the middle product on the screen shot for latch. We are building the first and third. Kisi as well imagine creating that reader that looks and feels so much better, something you can see in a modern building built for the internet age.
