A water dispensing fountain that includes filtration, Steam cleaning of devices and RFID technology. The desired equipment will clean/sterilse and fill RFID equipped water bottles. The water will be standard tap water that will flow through a high quality third-party filtration unit. Bottles inserted for re-fill will be inverted, exposed to steam and ultra-violet light for cleaning and then filled with purified water. The design will be approximately 450mm square and about 2.0M high. The units will need to look attractive and will probably include TV/video display equipment on the upper part. Each unit will have a water inlet and power supply.
Free our Hands and Sore Backs - Automate our Cucmber Pickle Making Workflow
Hello CAD Crowd Community, We are a small scale fermentation company. We have an opportunity to grow to meet the demand for our products. We currently make everything by hand, it is long tedious work. It was very gratifying in the beginning to craft everything by hand, however after 6 years it is time to find a way to will allow us to meet the demand for our products and allow our staff to be rewarded for the hard work they have contributed and grow into roles for better contribution (and reward!) and let machines take over where they can do better than us. The way for us too do this is to automate our production workflow which will allow us to increase our output with the same number of staff. That allows us all to share in future growth through profit sharing, higher salaries and let' us and our staff focus on quality and inspiration for new products and not on repetitive manual labor. I am very excited about this process - if we can accomplish this we have other products to apply this idea to. --- Goal To process 6 pallets in a 10 hours shift. --- Notes - each pallet has 40x, 6425 crates, http://www.toscaltd.com/supply-chain-solutions/produce/ - each crate holds 200 - 300 cucumbers - cucumbers cannot be bruised by dumping onto hard surface, this will make the pickles soft - The challenge with cutting the pickles is getting the longitudal cut lined up, the pickles are not perfectly straight nor are they the same size - if cutting spears is too challenging I am open to only cutting halves --- Steps - Idea/ Goal 1. Unload crates from 40x48 pallet - We currently hand unload crates. Our bodies are sore. Let's automate this! 2. Wash cucumbers - We currently dump the cucumbers into a 3 bin sink and successively wash them in each bin. We manually transfer the cucumbers from sink to sink before moving them to the next step. Let's automate this! The cucumbers are quite clean when we get them so this is not a hard scrubbing, more of a strong rinse. Here is one example - http://charliesmachineandsupply.com/catalog/VegFruitWash.shtml 3. Separate cucumbers by size - We currently do the by hand. It's not fun anymore! Cucumbers are separated by diameter. A - less than 33mm B - 33m-37mm C - greater than 38mm This could be accomplished mechanically or with electronic sorter. I would like to be able to adjust the sizing parameters. Here are 2 ideas http://www.kerianmachines.com/cucumber&pickle.html https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=cucumber+grader 4.Trim cucmber top and bottom. 3mm from each end. All A & B cucumbers get top and bottom trimmed off. Currently we do this by hand with a potato/carrot peeler. 5. Small / A cucucmbers are gently fed into into our barrels. http://www.toreuse.com/puncheon-500l-wine-barrell/ 6. Med / B cumbers are processed 3 ways. 1. into spears, split longitudinally into 4 piece. 2. split into halves, similar to spears but into 2 pieces 3. cut into chips We currently cut into spears using a lime wedger - https://www.webstaurantstore.com/nemco-55550-4-4-section-easy-wedger-wedgemaster-fruit-vegetable-wedge-cutter/591N555504.html Please see this video for a spear cutting machine that bigger companies use - https://www.dropbox.com/s/cnjw8zwjqwqon19/Solbern%2076%20pickle%20spear%20cutter.MOV?dl=0 We cut into halves by hand with a knife. We cut into chips using a Hobart FP400 -https://www.webstaurantstore.com/hobart-fp400i-1-continuous-feed-food-processor-2-hp/425FP400I1.html 7. Next we package. I would like to be able to fill a bucket (4 gal) with B / cut cucumbers and then brine with pickle liquid automatically. --- Here is our manual process, notice this is using the older style wood crates. https://youtu.be/7gbQC75Uk5g This machine would be a game changer for us. I hope that wit the right engineer we can design it with electrical and mechanical technology. I don't think this would be possible before at our small scale with just a mechanical machine. Thank you!
