The Work Journal helps you track job progress and preview daily billable hours.<\/p> <hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/> <p class=\"has-text-color\" style=\"color:#00000085\"><strong>\ud83d\ude80<\/strong> <strong>In this article <\/strong><\/p> <hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/> <h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Using the Work Journal<\/h2> <ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Work Journal is activated when you hire an expert for an hourly job contract<\/li> <li>We&#8217;ll ask the expert to use the Cad Crowd Timer app to log timesheets<\/li> <li>The app takes random screen captures in 10-minute intervals, and the images are saved to the job&#8217;s Work Journal<\/li> <li>The expert can add work activity descriptions for each interval that explain the work activity<\/li> <li>You can talk with the expert if you have concerns about the Work Journal and billable hours<\/li>\n<\/ul> <h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Where can I find the Work Journal?<\/h2> <p><strong>You can view the Work journal with these steps:<\/strong><\/p> <ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>View your <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cadcrowd.com\/user\/jobs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Jobs list<\/a><\/strong><\/li> <li>Click on the <strong>hourly job contract<\/strong><\/li> <li>Select the <strong>Work Journal tab<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol> <p>You switch between days in the Work Journal by clicking the \ud83d\udcc5 <strong>icon<\/strong> and <strong>\u276e \u276f icons<\/strong>.<\/p> <p><strong>Note:<\/strong> Only the expert can add or delete Work Journal time entries. You can click on the <strong>Chat tab<\/strong> to message your expert if you have concerns.<\/p> <h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Understand Work Journal timesheets<\/h2> <p>The expert uses the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cadcrowd.com\/help\/buyers\/hourly-projects-with-the-cad-crowd-timer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Cad Crowd app<\/a><\/strong> to track work activity and billable hours. The app runs on the expert&#8217;s desktop and takes screen captures at random 10-minute intervals for your review.<\/p> <p>You and your expert can enable <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cadcrowd.com\/help\/buyers\/manual-time\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">manual time entries<\/a><\/strong> if you want to track work hours that aren&#8217;t accurately represented by the Timer&#8217;s screen captures (i.e., Zoom meetings, calls, offline work, etc.).<\/p> <p><strong>Work Journal timesheets show the following: <\/strong><\/p> <ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Green bar:<\/strong> The green color shows time tracked with the Cad Crowd app<\/li> <li><strong>Yellow color:<\/strong> The yellow color shows Manual time entries for the job added by the expert. <\/li> <li><strong>Memo:<\/strong> The memo is an optional text description that is added to a 10-minute work interval<\/li> <li><strong>Activity score:<\/strong> The activity score shows the overall work activity level (mouse clients\/keystrokes) for a 10-minute time interval. A higher score means high computer work activity for the time period.<\/li>\n<\/ul> <p>The Cad Crowd app will not allow your expert to exceed the maximum weekly hours added to the job contract. You can edit the maximum weekly work hours for the job contract by clicking the <strong>Terms &amp; settings<\/strong> tab.<\/p> <p class=\"has-cyan-bluish-gray-background-color has-background\"><strong>\ud83d\ude80 Tip: The amount of work activity recorded during a period may vary depending on the job. Activities like Zoom meetings, phone calls, reading, and brainstorming may result in a low activity score, since there will be few keystrokes and mouse clicks.
