Most clients leave the software field empty when they post a contest. If you choose a specific software, you’ll be limiting the number of entries that you receive on your contest. This is because\u00a0designers don’t usually own more than a couple CAD software packages (there are literally hundreds on the market) and each software is expensive (often $5,000-$50,000 per license).<\/p>\n

Accepting different CAD software entries on your contest is usually not an issue. since the designer can just export the native CAD files (i.e. SolidWorks) to a neutral CAD file format that can be opened with most CAD software (i.e. STEP, IGES, Parasolid, etc.).
