Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park

This custom park is located under the Arthur Ravenel Bridge in Charleston, SC. The customized elements of the playground are representative of the dozens of custom themed playgrounds I've designed. As with all of the custom themed playgrounds I designed, the primary goals for this particular one were 1) very close alignment with the vision of the customer, 2) compliant with all state and federal safety regulations, 3) manufacturable, and 4) quality construction for a long lasting product. The vision for this park was provided by an in-house design team who worked with the end customer (the city of Charleston) to refine their ideas. From there I used conceptual renderings and a knowledge of the limitations of manufacturing to produce a quality design that was easy to fabricate and install on site. I collaborated with the manufacturing personnel to ensure the product was built to spec, and also created in depth installation instructions for the on site installation crews. This project was completed and installed on time and under budget. Kids from all over the Charleston area are now able to enjoy an inspiring airport themed playground at the base of this landmark bridge.
