Diode Pumped Alkali Laser System
The purpose of this project was to design a gas circulating system that circulates rubidium gas for a diode pumped alkali laser. The design included a subsystem that acts as a saturation vessel which introduces rubidium gas into the loop (rubidiﬁer). Another major subsystem removes rubidium gas from the circulating loop through the use of PTFE straws. A supercharger coupled with an electric motor acts as a blower to circulate the gas at high speeds. The transducers implemented not only characterize the supercharger, but test the effectiveness of rubidium saturation and removal.
