If your posted contest does not receive at least 30 entries by the end of the Open Phase, we will refund you all of your money. If you do receive 30 entries but still are not satisfied with the designs, we will provide you a full refund minus a $75 participation fee which will be paid to the designer who has the highest ranked entry. This policy is in place to increase the chances of participation from the best designers and maximize the chances of satisfying your design needs.
You are allowed to extend your design contest by up to three days free of charge. Please contact customer support to do so. The extension will be applied on the same or next business day. Providing a reason for you extension to the designers can be very helpful in achieving satisfactory results.
It is recommended that all revisions requested are before the final approval of the winning design. Once approved, the winning designer will upload their final design files and transfer their ownership to you.
The type of software used in the design is up to the buyer. Cad Crowd has engineers who are skilled in a large number of design programs including SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
Once the winner is selected and the design files are uploaded and approved, the ownership and intellectual property rights of the design are transferred from the designer to the buyer. All of the other designs, except for the winning design, remain the property of the designer.
There are varying factors that can affect the number of designers participating in your contest. These include the complexity of your design, the size of your prize, the amount time remaining in the contest and your level of interaction. Be sure that your description is clear and straight forward and that your prize value matches the results you expect. Buyers who participate in their contests by providing feedback and ranking are far more likely to achieve the results they want compared to those who do not interact with the designers after the initial posting.
You are required to select a winner within 7 days of the contest ending. Since clients generally have a good idea as to who the winner is before the contest ends, this selection deadline is trivial in most cases. However, if you are having trouble deciding on a winner or require additional entries, a onetime 3-day extension will be allowed. If a winner is not selected within two weeks of the end of the contest and no response is given to a final follow up email, Cad Crowd will select a winner and distribute the prize money based on existing rankings, comments, and feedback. While it rarely comes to this, this policy is in place to ensure designer confidence and participation in the Cad Crowd Community.
