Buyer Guidelines

Cad Crowd’s overall mission is to help the buyer find the CAD design that they are looking for by giving them many high quality, unique design concepts.  Here are some things that you can do to help ensure that you get the most out of posting a design contest.

Suggestions for Success

  • Be sure to fill out the CAD Design questionnaire thoroughly. The more the designers know about your concept, the better their designs will be.
  • Offer the biggest prize that your budget can handle. The higher the prize amount, the better the chance that you are going to attract both quality and quantity in your design entries.
  • Rank the entries on a daily basis. This gives the designers a good idea on where they stand in terms of what you are looking for.
  • Providing good feedback to all contestants, even a brief sentence or two, will help give designers a better idea you are looking for.
  • Select a winner within seven days of the end of the contest to make sure that you can make final revisions to the design and approve it as soon as possible.

Requirements for Cad Crowd Buyers:

  • Buyers are not allowed to ask one designer to use ideas or concepts from another designer. Any concept or idea that a designer submits is essentially the property of the designer for the rest of the contest. Any of your own requests or ideas that have been put in the contest brief are considered fair game as are any design ideas that are considered obvious.
  • You need to select a winner within 7-days of the end of the contest. In most cases, the buyer already knows who is going to win before the contest even ends making this deadline trivial. However, if you need more time or are looking for more entries, a onetime 3 day extension is allowed. If you have not selected a winner within 2 weeks, Cad Crowd support will then be obliged to award the prize for you by selecting a winner based on the existing rankings of the entries. We have this policy to ensure a high level of designer participation for each contest.
