This machine uses multiple copies of the hood, frame, and front panel to allow for modularity and re-configurability. I did several versions of these hoods and panels over the 20 years I worked there. I used vendors in Taipei Taiwan for the injection mold tooling and production. During the projects I visited there twice to oversee 1st shots and tooling qualification. The front panel is molded to a custom color in ABS. The hood part is molded in smoke polycarbonate with the tool polished to an A3 in the center section and textured on the edges. The edges are painted to a custom color and finish to match the sheet metal desk on the operator station. The handle is contains a latch for connecting the hoods together and each hood has it's own counterbalance. There is a light pipe on each of the front panels that channels a fixed LED board's light out to the front for operator warnings
